DUNE 2000 - ART 0.1 | Currently includes Arthur's Epic Dune a mod which is based on Epic Dune mod by Jason Holdsclaw to be used in scenarios, as the original is suitable only for multiplayer games, and some new cement tiles. These are BMPs and they replace originals in r8s. You will need DUNE 2000 image converter for this (Homepage: http://magicteam.narod.ru, available in http://www.dune2k.com). |

D2KMODSW | NEW! A sample menu that lets you select with which mod to start DUNE 2000. This menu looks similar with the game's menu. It is a replacement for DUNE2000.BAT from DUNE2000 ART pack. It is in Game Maker format. You will need the registered Game Maker 6.1 to run or create an executable (Homepage: http://www.gamemaker.nl/). |

GA Scaled Ships | Original are ridiculously small in scale (things even worse in Simutrans). (Priority 1. It is very hard work. Question as to what kind of graphics program to use. 3D is a good option, since the sprites will not be wasted when new graphics engine of OpenTTD arrives. On the other hand 3D programs are difficult to use. Blender has no help file, the rendering for TTD is not correct isometric so it will be big trouble to start cutting pixels here and there. Finally volunteers are needed to help with the grf coding and the pseudo-sprites). | |
Large Graphics | 128X63 tiles or even other sizes (96X47, 256X127) for OpenTTD. 128X63 is favored as it is double from the original tiles and so more easy to create. As 800X600 is an ideal resolution with the current set, this would look great at 1600X1200. Large Graphics will be a complete set as similar to the original sprites as possible including variations of them and new additions. (Priority 10. This is a huge project and may take years to complete. Everyone is prompted to assist). | |
The following enhancements are proposed for Large Graphics as well as for the future of OpenTTD: | ||
• Day and night mode. | ||
• Enhanced climates: More eye friendly Toyland, frozen sea in Arctic climate with set snowline varying through the year. | ||
• New climates: Mars from original TT, Legoland. | ||
• New industries and cargos. | ||
• New scheme similar to that of Simutrans for passengers. The same for Georges' tourists. | ||
• More realistic airports with long runways out of the city. | ||
• More realistic rail system: Curved rails. Curves will be more smooth. A loop will be 4X4 instead of 2X2. This requires very hard artwork for the station junctions. Depots will be longer according to train lenght. | ||
• More realistic road system: Diagonal roads bridges and tunnels, arched Bridges. | ||
• More realistic terrain with new slopes: smooth, normal (original), steep. Trains will be able to climb 1 only whereas road vehicles 1 and 2. | ||
